50 euro for trucks? I'm sure they are good, or even the best, but I'll never pay that much for a pair of trucks. Never.

I think that these trucks will find their owners. Price? I think that 50 EUR is not very-very big price. As for me, I want to make a review at my fingerboard-blog (http://fbspot.ru). Big review, because this product is amazing!

it is sad that Fbweekly became a place were publicity is displayed instead of a place that delivers actual news.

news should be bipartisan, for instance, this news would be OK if you wouldnt say would great the product is, let the people decide for themselves!

I, myself, will never give that much money for trucks.

12 years of fastfingers were built with teck deck trucks so I guess that is good enough for me.

and by the way, having Brr saying in their site that these trucks mark the moment that we go to "another level" basically takes away some of the credit of all those years and everything they built using Td trucks, or at least is saying that before this era everything was less serious.

All the time people are concerned about their freedom of speech, but want to stay anonymous...
you should know, that this human right was eked out by brave human beings during the French Revolution in 1789. Thanks to those who weren´t too anonymous to have their opinion during those bad times...

So to get to the point, nobody is forced to buy BRR trucks it´s a free decision. Of course, you can continue to use TechDeck trucks.

You can buy cheap skate shoes at Walmart or you can buy Vans shoes at a spezialized dealer, respectively called skateshop.
So, guess what is more about supporting fingerboarding buying the stuff of a toy corporation or a fingerboard company, which is active in any fields of fingerboarding since 10 years.
Of course the products are more expensive, because they are not mass products and the tools to produce that kind of quality are expensive.
Furthermore they are made by professionals in Germany in and not in China.

Actually I don´t want to discuss those issues again, because as I´m tired of not thought-out statements.

If you have any questions about the trucks feel free to send emails and ask us whatever you need to know. We are not anonymous.

Btw, fingerboard trucks are worth to be mentioned on this blog since they are something new and are not the next copy of something, like the most products...

Have a nice evening,
Denise

PS: Jay, btw you get a set of new trucks for being brave enough to show your face and to say your opinion ;-)

Hi there Denise.
Well about my anonymity.

Well i hope you don't expect me to create a Google account in order for me to not be anonymous.

I have no problem saying who i am (Peter Thompson,25,USA.

I understand you point, and i am glad you gave you opinion, but you have to bear in mind that it is normal for people to have other opinions.

For instance.
You say : "Furthermore they are made by professionals in Germany in and not in China." like there is something wrong with it. Is china a worse country than Germany?
anything wrong with china?

by the way, Teck as been part of the Brr past present and future - without it I bet these 10 years would have been much harder. TD is made in china, so don't say it like its some sort of achievement because EVERYTHING is made in china nowadays.

"Actually I don´t want to discuss those issues again, because as I´m tired of not thought-out statements. " ?
sincerely, for me, this as been one of the first times that i saw you online commenting publicly about something ( which I already said that I liked and respect )

"Btw, fingerboard trucks are worth to be mentioned on this blog since they are something new and are not the next copy of something, like the most products..."?
Well sincerely, i cant say you guys are not original because in most things you are, but you are not 100% original, like the new brr shape ( very similar to other shapes in the market)or by selling Teck deck trucks.

-----
Don't get me wrong Denise and don't think i am being offensive.
discussing is naturally part of coming to conclusion.
i just think its good for me to share my point of view and don't feel bad about it even if its dissident.

And I gotta tell you , after the whole Nollie drama, it got harder and harder for people to share their views if they are not according to BRR standards. Which is sad really.

I don't know.
There was a certain "feeling" in the world of Fb before this got so commercial.
I mean , really, how can you say fingerboarding is a sport in the text about the new trucks?!

Sincerely, I fingerboard for 8 years now and i consider it a game, a game of skill.
But calling it a sport seems to forced into making it special, because wake up to reality it is not a sport.

what is even the problem if it is not a sport anyway?
Wasn't the point of fingerboarding to open peoples minds showing that playing is part of EVERYBODY´s life, not just kids?

Sport?
Even i find it ludicrous.
Brr does not need these kind of tactics really.

At least i thought it didn't.
But sincerely, if you hear what most fingerboarders say and care for what they think, you wouldn't need to be "tired" like you said, because you would have adapted and evolved as a company instead of getting more serious and important.

If BRR is a company made by fingerboarders to fingerboarders THAT CARES ABOUT THEM it should start to listen to them for once.

Peter T.

ps: sorry if i am still anonymous but i wont create an account just for this.

and sorry if i offend anybody, you shouldn't feel offended because I have been loving fingerboarding for years and i am just an honest person ( sure remote textual messages are harder to codify ) with an opinion of my own.

1. You have the option to choose Name/URL then you don´t have to create an Google account, you just have to fill in your name. I also don´t have a Google account and won´t have one in the future.

2. In general China is not worse than Germany, but as you might know working class people in China are exploited by western corporations or Chinese production companies, which try to produce cheaper and cheaper. The workers work like 16 hours a day for maybe 1 dollar a week and sleep in 150-squarefeet bed rooms with 20 other people. Furthermore the government is a communist dictatorship. I.e. Freedom of speech is not allowed there.
So, I for myself don´t want to support that and try to avoid that whereever it is possible. Anyway their national economy is so huge they don´t need the rest of the planet too buy their products...

For the reasons above we don´t want to produce any Blackriver stuff there!
(And that has nothing to do with Chinese people and culture, that has to do with a criminal government)

3. Of course we and all of you need TechDeck. But TechDeck is not Blackriver. And Blackriver has the free decision not to produce in China, even if TechDeck does.
Even if I try to avoid buying Chinese products in my daily life, sometimes it´s not possible, but being aware of it is a beginning to change circumstances.
And believe me, not everything is made in China nowadays, you just have to open your eyes and to be aware of it. That starts whith buying an apple in the supermarket.

4. I don´t make comments about every topic which is discussed in the fingerboard world, but every once in a while I try to interfere. Whenever I think it´s necessary ;-)
Probably you just haven´t read it...

5. Selling TechDeck trucks has nothing to do with being original, but with offering a cheaper truck compared to the new Trucks. It´s just for the choice.
That´s absolutely not the point while talking about the trucks, because they are original.

Concerning the shape I guess you mean BerlinWood and not BRR ;-) The new shape has nothing to to with any shapes being sold, we just felt that the currant fingerboard shapes are not realistic enough, so we took the shape of a skateboard with a lot of concave and modified it, so that it is the story behind it. Furthermore the new decks are not only about the shape, it´s also about the pop etc.

6. Dissident? BRR standards? People who know me and Martin would laugh about words like this since they are so completely off the mark. Sometimes I don´t know what the problems are and I think people construct their own problems just to have some. What would a world be without problems? Try to imagine how that would be! That would be paradise! Unfortunately most human beings are far away of that stae of mind. Let´s rather throw bombs in order to create world peace. You see how paradox that is?

Have you ever heard or read a statement of Blackriver (respectively me or Martin) saying anything bad against NW??
NW discredited himself by his own actions and statements because he tried to bring distrust and lies to the German fingerboard scene.

The German fingerboarders where clever enough to realize the situation and I can´t stop people talking or thinking about those issues.

What happened is that the effects of his own actions were lead back to him. This is called Boomerang effect. What goes around, comes around. Also called Karma.

I won´t say anthing else concerning that issue since it´s not my nature to talk bad about other people even if they talk bad about me.

7. Why do you have a problem if we call something a sport? Chess is a sport, too and it´s a game of skill.
In fact I don´t care if fingerboarding is regarded as a toy or a sport. This is just a linguistic expression. Like the word "table". (You know why a table is called table? Why is a table categorized as furniture, some people create tables which can be categorized as art?)
Fingerboarding should be about the feeling and the fun not about categorizing.
Probably you should regard our statement as a methaphor and you shouldn´t take it too serious, because sometimes we do just things for fun.

And reality? what is reality? Reality is the world you create inside of your head. First you create a thought and then the action follows.
Reality is what you make out of it!

I don´t think fingerboarding is commercial.
commercial? what is commercial? Commercial is everything you regard as commercial.
Sorry, I don´t get that point of being commercial.

I see a lot of fingerboarders having pure fun and bringing fingerboarding forward by their creativity.
Of course you have to pay money if you want to have something. You know I also have to pay my food and my rental fees.
That´s the core of the capitalistic society. Let´s fight against this, I´m on your side. When the fight is won, I trade trucks against food. Yeah I like that.

8. You know we are fingerboarders and skateboarders by ourselves. In our crew are fingerboarders who fingeboard since 25 years.
You don´t even know us, so why do you impeach us for flimsy reasons.
If you have a problem with us you can send me an email.
I don´t know I have the impression you regard fingerboarding as something it has never been by now. At least your world is far away from mine.
What we do is having fun, fingerboarding, skating, sometimes creating some videos and photos, sometimes having some ideas about fingerboard products.
So, what the fuck is the problem about that.
Be happy, have fun, don´t talk about other people you don´t know and don´t tell wrongs things about people you don´t know...

9. The discussion started originally about the trucks, to come back here is a short summary:

- no mass product, since fingerboarding is not as commercial as you think
- high tool costs for producing it
- high quality product
- no force to buy it
- choice of continuing to ride TD trucks

10. This is not an offense. This is just what I think about the world, about life and about fingerboarding...

Well i paid 81 U.S. dollars for brr trucks including the shipping and i can tell you right now that i wish i had 75 dollars of my money back. The trucks from black river are custom trucks this is true but they do not do anything any better than any well tuned set of TD trucks that i have ever had have done. The price is ridiculous. I got these because i thought that it would be a great improvement to my deck like adding a set of bearing wheels or something but the harsh reality is that they are not.

I do not wish to be anonymous. My name is Troy i am 19 and from the United States. To all you guys out there that are considering these trucks i would advise you to save your money. The bottom has a plastic hanger that is not really suited for harsh use. They do sell the tuning packages but they do not include these hangers in the package. Now i know that everyone has to see for themselves and doesn't choose to believe everyone elses comments but i am sure that if the people that bought these trucks would come out and tell the truth about them they would all tell you that what i am saying is the truth.

Black River is known for some great stuff. Ramps and obstacles are of the highest quality. That is one of the reasons i decided to buy these trucks but i was astonished when i pulled them out of the package and saw what i saw. The hanger is 20mm wide. The axle length is a little short but it will fit a dual bearing wheel. Everyone out there used to wide TD trucks these are not for you for sure.

In closing i hope that BRR listens to the public and will do something about this. As a customer of BRR i sort of feel cheated. If i had known the trucks were like this i would have never have bought them and it will make me more aware of buying new products from the BRR site in the future.

These trucks cost more than my skateboard trucks cost me and the owners of the company have to know they are not worth it. I wish that BRR would somehow make this up to the loyal customers that bought these trucks. Maybe someday soon with enough people that bought these coming forward and telling the truth about them this will happen.

A saddened,

Troy

I just have to say after buying brr trucks and buying ytrucks i see absolutely no difference whatsoever unless you count the 100 euro out of my wallet.

I do agree with a lot of things said here about brr but it isn't only brr, it's yellowood, it's flatface, it's berlinwood, and almost ever other big name company out there. This slogan made by fingerboarders for fingerboarders yes that is a great slogan. BUT i highly doubt that this is true.

The big companies in fingerboarding stand side by side and that is how things are done. If you are a creative young fingerboard company owner unless one of these people is already your friend then you can forget any kind of love at all from them. I own a fingerboard company and i have been in business now for about 2 years. I msg the owners of these companies and NEVER not one time have i gotten a response from them.

Someone mentioned the BRR molds changing. Wasn't it wierd that Yellowood got a new mold at the same time that Berlinwood did? Compare those decks they just do not have the pressure set the same to pop out a replica of a YW. Flatface graphics are the same as berlinwood, yellowood, and brr of course they all help each other out.

I don't know how much BRR has invested into their trucks but i bet they have gotten back their investment and they are making money off of it. Molds do not cost that much especially when casting is involved. I would love to know the company in Germany that did the trucks because they resemble a pair of trucks that was offered to me by a chinese company. Maybe you hired a German Company and they hired a Chinese company it doesn't mean your product is worse off Chinese people do this all day everyday.

In closing i would just like to say that if you msg a big company and they are too busy to return your msg then i think that you should be too busy when it comes time to buy their new products. Sorry for rambling on and no everyone is right no one has to buy anything and if you follow the step above and they can't talk to you then i think you should boycott them. The deck, trucks, wheels, tuning, or grip does not make the fingerboarder. The skill of the fingerboarder makes the fingerboarder. Remember that when you are paying outrageous prices for items that will not make you any better than the time you spend practicing.

Just my thoughts,

Troy age 27 Arizona U.S.A.
